MARLBOROUGH TOWN HALL

pROJECT DETAILS

A building of prominence and importance in this well-known Wiltshire market town, we were involved in a project to create disabled access with new steps, piers, caps and copings to match the Bristol Pennant sandstone and Ham Hill limestone used to construct the original entrance. Our particular challenge was to identify and source a stone that would be suitable for texturing for disabled use and also match the no longer available Bristol Pennant sandstone that was originally used to construct the steps and paving. We were able to source and supply a Florentine blue sandstone in order to bring the architect’s concept to a practical working conclusion.
